iDemocracy invites to join the discussion on countering human trafficking under the Summit for Democracy

iDemocracy invites everyone to participate in the discussion «Human Trafficking as a Gross Violation of Human Rights». The event will be held within the Summit for Democracy on 9-10 December which was announced by US President Joseph Biden.

Human trafficking is a gross violation of fundamental human rights, a person’s honour and dignity. This issue is relevant in the XXI century for every country in the world. Every year millions of people all over the world who search for better life get in trade slavery. According to estimates by the International Center for the Prevention of Crime, annual money flow of this transnational crime comprises $150 bln. It makes human trafficking the second largest source of criminal business.

Therefore we would like to invite everyone to participate in an analytical discussion regarding the adaptation of best international practices of preventing and countering this phenomenon to elaborate effective mechanism for dealing with human trafficking in Ukraine and in the world.

The discussion will be held online on 9 December, 2021, from 09:30 to 11:30 AM EST.
