Over 14 thousand people have been affected by the Russian aggression against Ukraine

Due to the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and warfare in the east of Ukraine over 14 thousand people got affected by pro-Russian militants. 3,5 thousand out of 14 thousand died.

iDemocracy informs so with the reference to Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova :

«426 Ukrainian residents are held under inhuman conditions in custodial settings of the Russian Federation and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine due to politically motivated accusation. Almost 300 persons are missing».

In addition, according to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, 450 residents are waiting to be relocated from custodial settings of the temporarily occupied Donbas to serve their sentence in territories that are under control of Ukraine. However the process of relocation has been already blocked for two years.

iDemocracy expert Evgeny Magda has previously focused on the potential negative impact of dehumanization of Ukrainians on the part of Russia.
